International Festival of Newland Avenue 2007
A week of events to showcase Hull as a diverse, cosmopolitan world city
24 September – 29 September 2007
Great food from India, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Peru, Andes, Congo, Nigeria and beyond!
The International Festival is a complete week full of events in different venues of Newland Avenue, including music, dance, art, samples of gastronomy, traditional costumes, handicrafts, workshops on language, tradition and culture, lectures, exhibitions and presentations from around the world.
Sounds interesting. Unfortunately I can’t find anything more than that about it on the web! I’ll see what I can find on the street at some point.
Also coming up is the Fair Trade Festival from 21st-22nd September in Hull City Hall. Should be lots of scrumptious stuff there… and everything else fairtrade as well, I just tend to concentrate on the food a little too much. Unfortunately I won’t be attending this one, as I’m down at Truck Festival that weekend.
